Aspherical lens has larger effective entry diameter, thereby
providing a larger aperture and making the lens more sensitive
to low light
these lenses
has different profile, which compensate for the aberration at
the edge of lens. the light that is normally lost by standard lenses
is picked by Aspherical and directed onto CCD
This can be especially useful when using color cameras, as
they are generally less sensitive than monochrome. if used
with monochrome, the need for IR lighting maybe be
removed
